Lumina

School annual fashion show

Lumina is my school’s annual student-led fashion show that brings together original design, performance, and production. In Grade 10, I participated as a model and supported designers with fittings, styling, and choreography. I became interested in how the entire show was held together behind the scenes.

In Grade 11, I became stage manager and led the coordination of over 50 students, including designers, models, tech crew, and performers. I built cue sheets, ran rehearsals, managed transitions, and oversaw backstage operations during the live show. With no faculty backstage, I was fully responsible for keeping the show on track and responding to unexpected issues in real time. Lumina taught me how to lead under pressure, communicate clearly across creative and technical roles, and balance structure with flexibility.
