Theatre

Why Theatre?

Theatre is where invisible work becomes essential. I’m drawn to what happens backstage, where structure, rhythm, and focus hold a story together. Ruth Mitchell began as a performer but found her strength in managing what the audience never sees. I see myself in that instinct. What interests me isn’t solely about being in the spotlight but rather creating the conditions that allow others to shine. Good theatre doesn’t just entertain. It teaches people how to listen, how to notice, and how to connect.

Playwriting

I participated in a five-week creative scriptwriting workshop with Northwestern University, where I developed my own original script titled The Science Fair.

Blending action, horror, and comedy, the play explored high-stakes chaos unfolding at a seemingly ordinary school event. Through intensive peer workshops and instructor feedback, I learned how to shape tone, build tension, and balance genre. The program pushed me to refine my dialogue, deepen character motivations, and trust my instincts as a writer.
